Nine years ago, Rep. Barbara Lee was the only member of Congress who spoke out against the war in Afghanistan saying, “Let us not become the evil that we deplore.” On October 7th, 2009 the beginning of the 9th year of the war, joined by only 21 other lawmakers, she introduced a bill prohibiting funding of any troop increase in Afghanistan. Here are her courageous words:
