You go ladies!
Aggrieved women of Nembe-Bassambiri, Bayelsa State have threatened to embark on naked protest over the protracted youth clashes in the area which resulted in loss of lives and property.
The women regretted that some persons have thwarted the peace efforts and vowed to place a curse on those fuelling the crisis.
Representatives of the embittered women made this known on Tuesday in Yenagoa to the peace committee constituted by the state government to resolve the contentious issues that led to the clashes between the rival youth groups.
A peace committee headed by the Amanyanabo of Twon-Brass, Alfred Diette-Spiff, told traditional heads, heads of security agencies and indigenes of the community that the status quo be maintained.
Diette-Spiff said more troops should be mobilised to the troubled area to allow business activities bounce back.
Speaking on behalf of the women, Yeri Akrain, told the committee that the women and children of the community were sad over the poor handling of the crisis.
According to Akrain, their several meetings with the traditional rulers of the area and the state government were futile.
“The women are annoyed and are afraid at the continued loss of human lives in the community. All of us had before the crisis degenerated visited the king’s house but no way. Instead of these youth thwarting the peace in the community and frustrating peace efforts that are ongoing, we would go naked and place a curse on them,” she noted.

Ladies? Am I the only one who objects to that term?
Off topic, I know, but it bothers me.
