Voting for a candidate because of the state you live in is nonsense. What, pray tell, have the Democrats done that they deserve this protection? The last Dem in the Oval Office enacted "welfare reform." At the time, I was a student at a 4-year university. I was forced to quit. "Welfare reform" meant that my state could stop subsidizing childcare for students. Without help getting care for my daughter, there was no way for me to complete my degree. Bill Clinton did that to me. He had the option of vetoing that bill. He chose not to.

I live in Arizona. It is gerrymandered into being a Republican-dominated state. That is not why I voted for McKinney. I voted for her because I believe in what she stands for. The Democrats aren't going to change unless true Leftists refuse to support their corporate crap. They are not our champions. They will use us to get elected, but ignore our issues. Any so-called "progressive" or "Leftist" who votes Democratic is allowing that to continue. I, for one, will not. I will vote my conscience. That's why I voted McKinney-Clemente. That's why I will never cast another vote for a Democrat if I have a trully progressive alternative.

I live in New York (rural, the parts no one remembers exist) and I am voting for Cynthia McKinney and Rosa Clemente. I have followed Cynithia McKinney's brave and principled stances since the overthrow of the government by the Supreme Court in 2000 and am overjoyed that for once in a long life, I can actually vote FOR someone rather than what I see as the lesser of two evils.
