Oh my God! Horrible! WTF! I am so LIVID after that, this isn’t the America they taught me about in elementary school, this is Communist Russia or Nazi Germany, and it’s about time the Police recognized that. No excuse, that was police brutality WITHOUT QUESTION. I hope this gets MSM play, but it might interfere with their agenda. We’ll see. Worst thing since Rodney King. Fascist pigs, I hope the girl is okay, and I hope she uses the millions she’ll get to fund anti-police-harrassment activities.

Thanks for the video, I’ll be posting this on my little site as well. As for a police state, I can’t say we’re there yet. Yes right now there are systemic abuses going on in response to perceived threat. I can’t call this a police state because to me that undermines the struggle of people in a real police state, like those in Tibet who were being slaughtered for protesting. Our rights are being violated, they have no rights.

This is a huge issue to me, but I think we need to be careful how we frame it if we are to confront this. A little hyperbole with like minded folks here is a great way to vent. But I want to hear this on tongues of people across the country, I want this nation to talk about why our rights must be defended, even if the offender is the police. I want those who try to defend the police given their fair hearing and then eviscerated with why freedom is more important than absolute order. And I think that hyperbole is an easy way to get people to ignore you.

So I hope I didn’t offend anyone, lets get this out there in a manner that will get people talking, and who knows maybe even thinking. That might be asking too much.

This is why we can not remain silent to the move by our government to embrace torture. What we embrace as policy eventually gets turned back onto our people. This, of course, was not torture. Torture is worse, but it is a reflection of how far our country has moved from respecting human rights. If we don’t get control of our government it WILL control us. We no longer have the luxury of remaining silent, sitting back and allowing our country to pass laws that will make us a POLICE STATE. Watch the above video and ask yourself this, “Does everyone HATE US for our Freedoms?” like the Republicans are so fond of saying? “They hate us for our Freedoms.” I think not.

In Minneapolis the police have accosted a group of journalists there for the GOP convention and confiscated all of their equipment and notes. They were there specifically to document police brutality next week. If this is how they’re acting BEFORE the convention I shudder to think of how they’ll act next week.

This reminds me of the Iraq War where they were targeting non-imbedded journalists to stop the truth from getting out.

The first incident was an overreaction, possibly by an individual cop who hated her politics, the second incident of pulling her away from an interview was calculated. It was obvious that she posed no threat except for what she was SAYING to the collected media.

This is, of course, an outrage. But in Bush’s America all outrages are now called “policy”.
