KCRA.com reports that:

“A 23-year-old Marine Corps recruiter and sergeant has been arrested on charges of having unlawful sex with a minor in Placer County.”

“A man who told KCRA 3 he is the stepfather of the alleged victim said (Victor) Sanchez-Millan met his daughter at a high school career fair at Lincoln High School in April, and that he repeatedly took his daughter off campus without a parent’s permission.

According to the letter, the relationship started by the two going to a restaurant to “talk,” and then escalated to visits to motels where there was allegedly alcohol and sex involved. The alleged victim’s stepfather also told KCRA that his daughter tried to hide the relationship from her parents for quite some time, until she found out last week that the recruiter is also married.”

Memo to KCRA–”unlawful sex with a minor” is statutory rape, to refer to it otherwise is utterly inappropriate. Let’s hope that if the charge are proven that this will not be yet another awful instance where only administrative sanctions are imposed by the military. This case serves as just one more reason why parents should be screaming about military access to our children in schools.
