Many thanks to Heart for posting a link to You Are Not Crazy If…, which is based on Patricia Evans book, The Verbally Abusive Relationship. This book has a permanent place in my heart because I credit it with being the one thing that helped me understand the demise of my marriage and its aftermath. Reading that book was the first step in my recovery from that experience. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Not only does it give a lot of clarity to verbal abusiveness on a personal level, but she begins by immediately making the connection between what happens behind closed doors and the ramifications of verbal abuse on a global level. And that my friends was the catalyst that led to founding the Feminist Peace Network.
