MDG3 Global Call To Action

From the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark
A wave of initiatives - started just two months ago
Half way to 2015 we are far from achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDG). If we don’t get on track, we will fail on gender equality, women’s empowerment and the other goals.
A new, global campaign has started a call to change this situation. So far a hundred torch initiatives in North America, Africa, Asia and Europe have within two months been initiated to do something extra. And the action has just begun… Day by day more initiatives from companies like Cisco, from government, business and grassroot organisations, from individuals and many more register on the website.
On 7th of March 2008 the Danish Minister for Development Cooperation, Ms Ulla Tørnæs launched the MDG3 Global Call to Action to put gender equality and women’s empowerment (MDG3) higher on the international agenda.
