“My name is Sabrina Qureshi and I work with Women and Girls Network who
work women healing women. We work with women who are overcoming their
experiences of sexual and male interpersonal violence.

I and other women and the women we work with are calling all women who
will unite against male violence against women. A UK wide million
women Pow Wow is being called and we need you. We would like you to
join us or at the very least support us in our efforts to end male
violence against women in all its forms. This is all being organised
by grass root workers. It comes from the core of our being. We have
had enough and we will march.

International Women’s Day on 8th March, has gone by in the last ten
years almost without any notice. I work with women of all ages and
the frustration in their voices when they ask me why? Why does the law
blame us? Why does the law not protect us? Where is the Women’s
Movement? We have had enough of being lied to, humiliated, invisible,
seen but not heard and not taken seriously.

We plan to come together on Saturday, 8th March, 2008.

Any needs your group may have to get to London on the 8th March, 2008,
i.e. travel, accommodation, do not hesitate to contact us. Money should
not be the reason to stop a woman from attending. We will do whatever
it takes to help you get here.
