Prostitution Business Goes “Gangbusters” During APEC Summit

You’ve really got to hand it to the Aussies, they don’t beat around the bush, so to speak.  The APEC Summit was a huge economic success for the brothel biz according to the Sydney Sun-Herald,

“”It’s been going gangbusters,” Adult Business Association NSW spokesman Chris Seage said yesterday.

Businesses that were banking on a 200 per cent increase in business
have done better than that with it up by 300 per cent.

“There have been secret service agents, trade envoys, but no Putins yet.”

Interstate prostitutes were brought in to fill demand at the city’s establishments, where APEC-themed specials such as the Condi Combo,
the UN Duo and the Presidential Platter were on offer.”

But as Dr. Lynette Dumble of the Global Sisterhood Network points out,

“Having international meetings downunder has become a code name for “buy and rape an Aussie broad” (outrageously referred to in The Age (Melbourne) as “INTERNATIONAL hankering for Aussie love”), or is this atrocious misogyny a global phenomenon [more likely the latter since Germany’s World Soccer Cup of 2006 was also linked to a surge in business for Berlin’s supermarkets of sexual depravity to inflict upon women]?”

Needless to say, it is indeed a global issue, the phenomena was noted after the last presidential conventions in this country as well and should be a huge concern during the upcoming Olympics in China. The mention above of interstate prostitutes is of particular concern, I believe the correct phrase is sex trafficking…
