Memo to V Magazine: Mutilating Women is NOT Fashionable

Many thanks to Sam Diener at Peacework for passing along this atrocious, misogynist photo spread in V Magazine which shows decapitated/mutilated women stuffed into shoes in a piece called “Foot Fetish”.  Memo to the folks at V Mag–there is nothing sexy or erotic  about these hacker-porn pics, the level of misogyny implicit in the notion that this could possibly be  construed as a  fashion statement is beyond belief.

Feel free to let V know what you think of this revolting photo spread.  you can also contact them by phone,  212-274-8959.

  1. Hi folks - see the letter I sent below

    Dear Ms. Jill Carvajal

I find this kind of advertizing offensive in the extreme. I can only wonder if the so-called artist and executives of V magazine used Auschwitz as their template for such “creativity.” I suspect you folks ignore the issue of violence against women, and consider this spread racy and controversial hoping to sell a couple of pairs more of the shoes.

Possibly next time you could include Robert Pickton, Ted Bundy, or The Yorkshire Ripper in your spread to sell products, for surely your magazine supports such activity.

Hey - here is an idea. Why don’t you use the dismembered hands of men, women and children of Sierra Leone to sell diamonds - now wouldn’t you folks be the clever ones?

    In disgust
    Darlene Juschka
