Feminist Peace Network

One of the best things about the International Women’s Peace Conference in Dallas last week was the opportunity to learn about all of the wonderful work that women are doing all over the world.  Over the next week or so, along with other posts, I will be sharing some of what I learned.

On the first morning of the conference, when I entered the central area where exhibition tables were set up, I was immediately drawn to a very colorful sign that said, “International Women’s Day”.  There I met Christine Jarosz who works with Words of Women, a Texas based group that runs an essay contest every year in conjunction with International Women’s Day.  As their website says, this is a project of “herstoric proportions.”  They also have a wonderful Herstory Quiz that would be a great teaching tool in schools, etc.  Please visit their website for more information.
