Whatever book you want to talk about it doesn’t stop the fact that male service members are raping female service members, and in large part, getting away with it. Rape is not a human condition, it is a devation from it, especially in the large numbers that it happens in.

I beg to differ: our “natural” state is neither one of saintliness (read: matriarchal) nor one of sinful evil (read: patriarchal)…our natural state is one of being a fearful animal suffering the twin anxieties of feeling overwhelmed by life and terrified of death. To the degree that we deny and flee from our own mortality we will, individually and culturally, project this fear in a variety of violent ways, war, rape, economic exploitation, etc. Please read the wokrs of Ernest Becker for deep insights into our all too human condition.

We have to get under that entitlement men feel to commit violence and put an end to it. Humans have been indoctrinated to believe that violence is natural, and war is inevitable, but that’s not true. Our natural state is one of peace and cooperation. We need a return to Goddess consciousness to heal the sickness that is patriarchy and we need to get women into positions of power to put a stop to sexual violence. The men at the top of our system now are as misogynist and the troops they command.

The United States Military, like other military organizations, teach sexual assault as part of their combat readiness process. This promotes fear among the civilian populations, and creates even more of a fierce warrior who is ready to destroy you, your family, and all that you hold dear, in order for the military to accomplish its goals, whatever that may be. Once mankind evolves to the point that we don’t need militaries to be human beings, then the sexual assault thing will start to go away. Mankind also must get away from the patricharical and return to the matricharical that we originally knew as animals in the jungle.
