Yesterday I wrote a post critical of Robert Greenwald’s co-opting of Mother’s Day to raise money for a small charity that helps a small number of children. Today I got a form letter from Don Hazen, executive editor of Alternet, forwarding a letter from Meg Ryan for Care that has a banner at the top that says “The Power of Mothers”, asking me to lobby my congressman about funding for USAID which provides critical maternal healthcare services in many parts of the world. Makes more sense than Greenwald’s plea, but here is my question–

What causes will you be raising money for on Father’s Day under the banner “The Power of Fathers”? Just asking.
