Tell CBS to air Lara Logan’s footage

According to Media Channel, CBS reporter Lara Logan is asking for letters to CBS urging that they air a segment she did called “Battle for Haifa Street” that takes a no-holds barred look at the reality in Baghdad, including civilians saying that the U.S. presence there is only making things worse, and dead bodies that show signs of torture. While the segment is available on the CBS website, it hasn’t been shown on television. When asked why they haven’t aired the segment, Media Channel reports that CBS’s Sandy Genelius said,

“There are discussions and even disagreements everyday about what goes on air, and noted that “One of the characteristics that makes Lara so special is her passion for her job. Of course she wants her pieces to be broadcast!

I can’t think of anything worse than sending a reporter in harms way and then not airing her footage of what she finds. Almost sounds like CBS considers Ms. Logan, who is an embeded reporter, as an egotistical gold-digger. Please write to CBS and tell them that you expect them to air stories that depict what is really happening in Iraq, not the watered down they want us to see.
